Busy Week Buried in Code...

I'm in Austin as we speak, and Chipp Walters and crew here are doing a bangup job of extending the ThoughtOffice program with features, improvements and future technologies. Here are a couple of short ones (and Samantha will be adding some of these as well as additional elements to our Help blog).

1) Loading TopicModules. When you have a long list of eXpertTopic Modules in your topic browser, it can take a bit for the system to load each module. In eXpertSystem (and IdeaFisher before that), we didn't have graphics in Topic Modules, so loading was zippy... but now that images have become such a significant part of the creative process, we needed to provide you some feedback to let you know when they're loading.

If you look at the bottom of the screen shot here, you can see some text on the lower left. That's indicating what Module is being inspected for compatibility and loaded into the TopicsBrowser. Once those are all loaded, you're good to go (and they only load once a Session, so you don't go through this process more than once).

2) Next on the agenda is a funky little "timeout" that infrequently shows up during image searches and more frequently on Keywordss. Here's what we came up with to ensure that when you have a slow internet connection, this doesn't tick you off: We added (thanks Chipp!) a Timeout adjustment box.

Simply look under ThoughtOffice => Preferences =>Internet Timeout. Then adjust it up from 30 seconds to add more "headroom" to the search process.

We're also adding more partners and databases as we speak, so look for some alternative keyword, Image, text and research options coming soon as well.
